Evergreen Apps Challenge is a joint initiative of the City of Seattle, Washington State’s Broadband Office and King County to produce sustainable applications to help find new and useful ways to use government data and serve the people in our communities.
The Challenge is intended to provide recognition to students, individuals, teams of individuals, corporations and nonprofit orgs for developing innovative software applications that utilize data available about Seattle, King County and Washington State. The sponsors data is available at data.seattle.gov. data.wa.gov and datakc.org.
The goals of the Competition are twofold: (1) to stimulate the development of applications that improve access to information, government services and government transparency, making it easier and more fun to visit, live and work in Washington; and (2) to stimulate economic development by encouraging innovation and the creation of new intellectual property with commercial potential by individuals, startups and small organizations.
If you have an idea about how to make open data more useful, then you are up for THIS challenge. If you have a question about challenge or the data sets, please ask here or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
